Diving Board

Jack can swim! He has been working so hard this summer. We started with swim lessons during the month of May. That was great because he got more comfortable with putting his face in the water. Then, I forgot to sign him up for the next month of lessons, which really worked out for the best. We spend three or more days a week swimming at my sister's pool. He has cousins that challenge and encourage him and then I spend time helping him too. On Sunday, he jumped off the diving board by himself and made it to the ladder with some help. Then on Monday he was doing it unassisted. He is so proud of his swimming and wants to start diving! Yikes!!! I told him he has to be able to swim across the pool before we work on that skill. So, this week I have been taking him to swim lessons at our neighborhood pool and they are helping him with his strokes. The lifeguards really wanted to teach him the "crawl", but Jack basically ignored their requests and kept swimming the "breast" stroke. Finally the lifeguards decided to help him perfect that stroke! He made it all the way across the pool in the 4 ft and was so excited. So, proud of my Jack!!!!

Potty Training

Molly uses the big girl potty! She is very proud of herself and is doing really well. We have stayed at home the last 4 days and she is naked 90% of the time. She has had a few accidents, but the majority of the time she runs in to the bathroom all by herself. She is now waking up in the morning and after naps, completely dry! I am so proud of Molly. I figured that since we are home all the time because of Luke, we might as well potty train. I will be happy to stop buying diapers for two children. Of course, the night she decided to go potty, I had sent Aaron to buy more diapers for her. I now have 72 size 5 diapers.

Swimming

Jack and Ben are quite the pair. Jack took swimming lessons during the month of May. He is doing really well. He loves jumping off the diving board with this water ring. He can go under water and hold his breath for 12 seconds and likes to pick up toys off the bottom of the pool. He is working on his swimming and is getting much closer to being a fish.

First day of summer, Molly was jumping off the diving board and floating all over the pool on her own. Second day of summer, all of that stopped. She decided that she needed to stay in the shallow end and play with mom. I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to keep up with her, thank the Lord all of that changed. She is not fearless!

Slip N Slide

Gotta love the $5.00 Slip N Slide! Jack thinks it is the coolest. Molly is not to crazy about sliding under the water.

1 month

Luke turns one month on Saturday! I have a few free minutes now, so I figured I better get this post up while I have time. If I don't do it now, I will forget or not have the time.

It is hard to believe that it has already been one month. Luke has been a great baby so far. Jack and Molly love him so much and have been so patient with me and with Luke. Molly calls him, "Luker and little buddy". She has only asked me to put him down once and is really good when I have to nurse Luke. She will climb up in the chair and touch every square inch of his body and give him tons of kisses on his head. Jack loves holding him and he is turning in to a great babysitter when I am busy putting Molly in bed. He is really patient with Luke and when he can't console him any more, he just walks away.

Life is crazy with three children. It is completely different than with the 2. I feel like I am back at the hospital and working as a nurse. I have my 3 patients, they all have a different acuity level, and all can be very demanding. I constantly have to think ahead and plan my day. I have learned that there is no reason to get upset or worry about not following my old schedule with the big kids. They have had a few meals much later than what they are used to, they have watched way too much television, and gotten to stay up much later at night! Everything goes smoothly when Aaron is home, but when he is traveling, I just make due.



I took these pictures this morning. Luke was holding his head up for quite some time. Long enough for me to snap a few adorable pictures. We love you Luke!

My oh so amazing friend, Julie, took this beautiful picture of my baby boy. Julie drove down from Iowa to meet Luke and to shoot her first newborn photo session. She seriously needs to get a photography business going, because this picture is awesome. You would never have known that Luke was her first tiny baby to shoot. She was so professional and came to my house well prepared for the shoot. She knitted this fun blue and white hat and another adorable hat just for Luke. Thank you Julie for your amazing friendship and your incredible talent! It was great seeing you!!

Luke Meets World

Here are some great pictures that we had taken while we were in the hospital. I am so glad that I had this done. I especially love the pictures of Jack and Molly checking out all of Luke's body parts. It is crazy to think that this Wednesday, Luke will be two weeks old. It is going too fast and I want him to stay this little forever. He is a great baby. He hardly ever cries and sleeps so good at night. I pray that he continues to be a good baby and that Jack and Molly continue to be so accepting of him. I hope you like our pictures.
